This was an unbelievable moment. Never in a million years did I think Nyla would do this. She didn't even want to be in the same room with Santa, and we didn't try to force her. But at the last minute as we were leaving to go home, she decided she wanted to sit on his lap and chat with him.
The look on Nyla's face was priceless when she gave Santa the fruit snacks she brought for him and he didn't open them up right away to eat them with her. I don't think he really knew what to do!

Sunday morning Nyla insisted on dragging the little rocking chair over by the Christmas tree to sit in it while we took her picture. I thought she must remember that from last year. But then I looked at last year's pics and realized it was actually 2 years ago that we took pictures of her and AJ in the rocking chairs by the tree. I can't believe she would remember that!
In typical Nyla fashion, she absolutely refused to put on her angel costume or even participate in the Christmas program rehearsal. At this point she at least got on the stage.
About 5 minutes before the actual program started, when Tyler said "Okay I guess it's time to go to the car for a spankin," she hopped right into her costume. :) I wish I had a picture of Tyler and the other dad sitting in the front row keeping a stern eye on their strong-willed 3-year olds throughout the program. :)
What a sweet Mary. And isn't that the cutest Baby Jesus you've ever seen?
It's actually Hazel in case you couldn't tell. ;)
Something in this picture just doesn't belong... I just had to post it because it's the first time in my/her life that I have witnessed Nyla sucking her thumb with anything other than "Green" in hand (her green blanky). She doesn't suck her thumb at all without Green, so we mostly keep it at home (and at nap time at daycare). But for some reason, Baby Jesus's blanket seemed to do the trick. Nyla thought Baby Knox was really nice for sharing his blue blanket with Hazel. :)
